A Time to Stand

Adisa Johnson is an African-American lawyer doing corporate work at a big Atlanta firm when her aunt Josie, who raised her, has a stroke in the small Georgia town where Adisa grew up.
While visiting her aunt, Adisa ends up defending a white policeman who shot an unarmed black teen. She is romantically attracted to the fiery preacher leading the protests that demand answers from the police.
The characters are prayerful believers, dealing with their own prejudices and struggling toward justice, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Think of Whitlow as a very spiritual John Grisham. It’s a good story that challenges readers to examine themselves.
