Lady Elisabeth Lawson is the daughter of a tory and, by association, one as well. Noble Rynallt is working with Patrick Henry and George Washington to free the Colonies from the oppressive English. Their only connection, Elisabeth is engaged to Noble’s cousin, and they are set to marry shortly.
On the eve of her wedding, her home is ransacked and her father is nowhere to be found. In the wake of the wreckage, Noble offers her a safe haven at his home. Feeling torn allegiances and guilt, Elisabeth can’t stay at Noble’s estate no matter how amazing it is; so she shortens her name to Liberty and heads to Williamsburg to ply her hobby of making lace as a trade to make a living.
Frantz does an amazing job illustrating the struggle of maintaining faith through trials of abandonment and war. It is a perfect read for fans of Siri Mitchell and Jody Hedlund.
