The Lost Castle

Release Date: 02/06/18
Set in three different time periods—the French Revolution, World War II, and present day—this novel untangles threads of history to reveal a continuous theme of love, heartache, and restoration.
When Ellie Carver discovers an old photograph of her Grandma Vi, who resides in an Alzheimer’s facility, she sets off on a trail that will span centuries and ultimately arrive at her own fairy tale.
Cambron slips deftly through generations, weaving tales of romance and intrigue, although if the reader doesn’t pay careful attention to dates, the timeline may be a bit confusing. Echoes of the past are ever present in Ellie’s story and also of her grandmother when she was a young woman in the French Resistance.
Several descriptive passages are a little overdone, but all in all this is another triumph for Cambron. Readers of contemporary and historic fiction will find this book captivating.
